SS Rajamouli's Magadheera (2009) is re-releasing on March 27, on the occasion of Ram Charan's 38th birthday. Magadheera is Ram Charan's first collaboration with SS Rajamouli, the second one being RRR, which came out 13 years after their first project.

Magadheera not only gained immense success on both commercial and critical fronts but has also been remade in Bengali as Yoddha: The Warrior (2014). The 2018 Hindi film Raabta, though not an official remake of Magadheera, faced flak for borrowing heavily from the Telugu original.

Magadheera, also starring Kajal Aggarwal, Srihari, and Dev Gill in pivotal roles is a romantic drama with elements of reincarnation and revenge, set in 17th-century Rajasthan and present-day Hyderabad.

Ram Charan and Kajal play star-crossed lovers, who died tragically, only to get another chance at reunion after they find their souls reincarnated. Conflict arises when the person responsible for their deaths in their past life (Dev Gill) is also reborn.

Magadheera, produced by Allu Aravind under the Geetha Arts banner, is widely considered to be one of the best films of Rajamouli's filmography. The film's story is penned by V Vijayendra Prasad, with music by MM Keeravani, cinematography by KK Senthil Kumar and editing by Kotagiri Venkateshwara Rao.
