The announcement of Narthan's new film with Shivarajkumar, Bhairathi Ranagal, gave rise to speculations about his planned project with actor Ram Charan getting shelved. However, the project is still on, according to sources. Sources close to UV creations, the production house expected to bankroll this yet-to-be-titled film, have confirmed that the film, is indeed happening. This film will be Narthan's foray into the Telugu film industry.

Ram Charan is currently working on Tamil filmmaker Shankar's upcoming film, tentatively titled RC15. He will be working next with Uppena-fame director Buchi Babu Sana, which is jointly produced by Sukumar Writings and Vriddhi Cinemas.

Narthan, who has worked as an assistant director on Prashanth Neel's Ugram (2014), made his directorial debut with the neo-noir thriller film Mufti (2017), starring Shivarajkumar and Sriimurali. Meanwhile, Bhairathi Ranagal, which marks Narthan's sophomore directorial effort, will follow Shivarajkumar's popular character from Mufti. The film is slated to go on floors sometime this year. There was also some speculation that Narthan will be working next on a film with Yash.

Ram Charan and Narthan will commence their project, once they are done meeting their respective professional commitments.
