MM Keeravani and Chandrabose, the composer and lyricist of the Academy Award-nominated original song Naatu Naatu, from RRR, attended the Oscar Nominees Luncheon at the Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles. The dinner, hosted in honour of the Academy award nominees, is an annual tradition, much like the Academy awards itself.

Keeravani and Chandrabose were also seen interacting with Steven Spielberg, whose film The Fabelmans ranked in seven major nominations this year, including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Original Screenplay and Best Actress. RRR, which has garnered much traction and critical acclaim in the West, found itself nominated in the Best Original Song category, alongside Lift Me Up from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, This is a life from Everything, Everywhere All At Once, Applause from Tell It Like a Woman and Hold my hand from Top Gun: Maverick

Naatu Naatu has been sung by Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava (who also arranged the song). The single, which plays out at a dance-off in the film, is choreographed by Prem Rakshith. Naatu Naatu has earlier won the Best Original Song award at The Golden Globe Awards and The Critics’ Choice Awards.
