Steven Spielberg's semi-autobiographical film The Fabelmans had it's Indian theatrical release on February 10. While promoting his film here, Spielberg was seen in a conversation with director SS Rajamouli, during which the filmmaker praised Rajamouli’s 2022 film RRR. Referring to the first time the filmmakers met each other on January 14, Spielberg says, “I thought your movie was outstanding. I hadn’t seen it when we met, but I saw it last week and it was just amazing. I couldn’t believe my eyes. For me, it was like eye candy. I thought the performances of Rama (NTR jr), Ram (Charan), Alia (Bhatt), and Allison Doody, my girl from the Last Crusade, and the rest of the cast were amazing.”

Speaking more about Allison Doody, who played one of the antagonists in RRR as well as Harrison Ford’s love interest in Spielberg's Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade (1989), the director said, “In your movie, I was kind of happy to see how you ended her story, she was so heinous as well as her husband." Congratulating Rajamouli for making RRR, Spielberg later says, “When we are not at these zoom meetings, and when we meet each other professionally, I have a lot of questions to ask you about how you made the movie.” Rajamouli, touched at the veteran director’s warm remarks, is seen enthusiastically accepting Spielberg’s offer to meet him in the states.
