Ashika Ranganath to star in Naa Saami Ranga

The film is scheduled for a Sankranti release

The makers of Naa Saami Ranga have announced on Monday that Kannada actor Ashika Ranganath is playing the film’s female lead. Naa Saami Ranga, a rustic action entertainer, features Akkineni Nagarjuna in the lead role. Ashika will be playing a character named Varalakshmi in the film. A character poster of hers has also been unveiled, featuring her decked in traditional finery. Ashika, known for her roles in the Kannada starrers Crazy Boy (2016) and Raambo 2 (2018), made her Telugu debut earlier this year with Amigos, starring Nandamuri Kalyanram in a triple role. 

Naa Saami Ranga, directed by choreographer-turned-director Vijay Binny, is scheduled to hit theatres next month during Sankranti. As of now, five films, namely Guntur Kaaram, Saindhav, Naa Saami Ranga, Eagle and Hanu Man are set to release theatrically in the coveted Sankranti festival window. Family Star, starring Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur, was also a part of the aforementioned Sankranti films’ race, but the makers’ of the film opted out, pushing its release ahead to the summer of 2024. 

Naa Saami Ranga is written by Dhamaka-fame screenwriter Prasanna Kumar Bezawada. The film is produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under the Srinivasaa Silver Screens banner. MM Keeravani is the music composer of the film, with lyrics provided by Chandrabose.
