Confirming speculations regarding Chiru 157, a fantasy film helmed by Vasshishta, has been confirmed on Tuesday with the makers officially announcing their film. The announcement was made on the occasion of Chiranjeevi's birthday, who turns 68 this year.
Actor-turned-filmmaker Vasshishta, who has shot to fame after directing the Kalyan Ram starrer Bimbisara, will be helping this project, which is said to be a fantasy film. The makers also reveal that Chiru 157 will be in the vein of Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari (1990), one of the actor's more popular films which belongs to the fantasy genre. Jagadeeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari was directed by K Raghavendra Rao. Chiranjeevi starred opposite Sridevi in the film, which also starred Shalini, Shamlee, Amrish Puri and Allu Ramalingaiah.
The announcement came alongside a poster that displays or rather, represents the panchabhutas (water, earth, fire, air and sky) nestled around a star fashioned like a trident. The poster comes with birthday wishes for Chiranjeevi on top. Chiru 157, marketed as a high-budget film, will be produced by Vamsi and Pramod under the banner UV Creations.
