On Sunday, Samantha conducted an 'Ask Me Anything' session on Twitter. While fans had a number of questions for the Oh! Baby actor, one fan asked, "You started to dub recent movies with your own voice? What prompted this change? How hard was it to dub for Shaakuntalam?"
Replying to the question, Samantha revealed, "I have dubbed for Shaakuntalam in 3 languages, Telugu, Tamil and Hindi. It was hard but necessary and is something I will continue doing!" (sic)
Samantha's Shaakuntalam is all set to hit theatres on April 14. The film is an adaptation of Kalidasa’s Sanskrit play Abhijnanashakuntalam. Shaakuntalam, headlined by Samantha, has Malayalam actor Dev Mohan (in his Telugu debut) as its male lead. Mohan Babu, Gautami, Madhoo, Ananya Nagalla, Jisshu Sengupta and Aditi Balan are playing supporting roles.
Shaakuntalam is produced by Gunasekhar’s daughter, Neelima Guna and distributed by Dil Raju. Veteran music director Mani Sharma has composed the music for Shaakuntalam, with Sekhar V Joseph and Prawin Pudi providing cinematography and editing, respectively. Shaakuntalam will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
