Actor Mahesh Babu's mother and veteran actor Krishna's wife Ghattamaneni Indira Devi aka Indiramma has passed away after a prolonged illness in Hyderabad. She was 70.

Indira Devi was admitted to the AIG Hospital last week and breathed her last in the early hours of Wednesday.

Krishna and Indira Devi had five children, including actors Mahesh Babu, Manjula and Ramesh Babu.

Indira Devi's death casts a pall of gloom among the family and fans of Mahesh Babu, who are still coping up with the demise of Ramesh Babu, who passed away earlier this year.

Indira Devi's daughter Manjula launched Indira Productions, a banner after her mother's name, and produced several award-winning films like Show, Pokiri and Ye Maaya Chesave.
