Even before the release of their first collaboration, Liger, actor Vijay Deverakonda and filmmaker Puri Jagannadh had announced that they will be teaming up once again for another film titled JGM earlier in June. Featuring Pooja Hegde as the female lead, the team had also kickstarted filming back in June. However, if reports are to be believed now, the film has been shelved.

Online reports suggest that the box office failure of Liger is a reason while another report ascribes budget constraints as a factor that pushed the stakeholders to reconsider the commercial viability of the project. However, an official announcement is awaited.

Puri Connects and Vamshi Paidipally's Srikara Studios are the producers of JGM. Charmme Kaur, one of the film's producers, tweeted on Sunday that she will be taking a break from social media. "Puri Connects will bounce back. Bigger and Better... until then, live and let live," she wrote.

Vijay Deverakonda, meanwhile, will be next seen in Kushi co-starring Samantha and directed by Shiva Nirvana, coming up.
