The makers of the comedy caper, DJ Tillu, which was released in February this year, have announced a sequel to the film. Ever since the release, the makers of the film have been open about the idea of the sequel, which was further complemented by the critical and commercial success of the original. The sequel is titled Tillu Square.

In the original, Siddhu Jonnalagadda stars as Tillu, a flamboyant DJ whose life turns upside down when his love interest Radhika (Neha Shetty) accidentally murders her fiance. The film turned out to be one of the few surprise hits of this year. The announcement about a sequel was made with a teaser video in which a drunk Tillu is seen interacting with a traffic cop.

While the original was directed by Vimal Krishna, the second film will be directed by Mallik Ram. Anupama Parameshwaran will be playing the female lead in the sequel. The sequel will be produced by Sithara Entertainments in association with Fortune Four Cinemas.

Sai Prakash Ummadisingu is the director of photography while Navin Nooli and Ram Miryala will be returning to handle the editing and music departments, respectively.
