Deepika Padukone, who was last seen in Gehraiyaan, is rumoured to be in talks for Mahesh Babu's next, directed by SS Rajamouli.

The latest reports suggest that the makers have plans to rope in Deepika to play the female lead in the film. Meanwhile, actor Karthi, who was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan, was also approached by the makers to play a crucial role. However, an official announcement regarding the casting is yet to be made.

Earlier, while interacting at the Toronto International Film Festival, Rajamouli revealed that the Mahesh Babu-starrer will be a globetrotting action-adventure film. "It’s going to be a kind of James Bond or Indiana Jones film with Indian roots," he added. The director is currently working on its pre-production and is planning to begin shooting next year.

Meanwhile, Deepika has a slew of upcoming projects, including Pathaan and Project K.
