The latest report suggests that Karthi, who was last seen in Ponniyin Selvan 1, will be part of filmmaker SS Rajamouli's upcoming film with Mahesh Babu. 

The makers reportedly approached Karthi for a crucial role. The actor is said to have expressed interest in the same. Earlier, Rajamouli recently spilt exciting details about his film with Mahesh Babu. He revealed that it will be a globetrotting action-adventure film. "It’s going to be a kind of James Bond or Indiana Jones film with Indian roots." The director is currently working on its pre-production and is planning to begin shooting next year.

Meanwhile, Rajamouli's RRR has been pushed for the Oscars with the 'For your consideration' campaigns in all categories. While the filmmaker is known for directing multi-starrer films, the trend would continue with his next if the reports are true. However, no official announcement regarding the same has been made yet. On the other hand, Mahesh Babu is currently shooting for his film with Trivikram Srinivas, tentatively titled SSMB 28. The shoot is expected to be wrapped by the end of February. After its completion, the actor will start preparing himself for Rajamouli’s film. And Karthi is gearing up for his Diwali release, Sardar.
