Akhil's Agent postponed

Akhil Akkineni's upcoming espionage thriller, Agent, has been pushed yet again and will not release during Sankranthi due to a delay in production works.

The Surender Reddy directorial was originally scheduled to release in January, but was postponed as the film's shooting is taking longer than expected.

"The budget of the film has gone up phenomenally and the makers have decided to halt the shooting for a few months. In all probability, the shooting may resume only after Sankranthi and hence, they have indefinitely postponed its release," says a source.

However, an official confirmation on the same is awaited from the makers.

Produced by Rama Brahmam Sunkara, Agent features Mammootty in a prominent role, with Sakshi Vaidya playing the female lead opposite Akhil.

Written by Vakkantham Vamsi, Agent features Akhil as a spy, who is on a secret mission. The film has music by Hip Hop Tamizha.
