Chiranjeevi to be honoured with IFFI Indian Film Personality Award 2022

The prestigious award was announced during the inauguration of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI)

Actor Chiranjeevi will be conferred with the IFFI Indian Film Personality of the Year Award for 2022, the Union Minister for Information & Broadcasting Anurag Thakur announced on Sunday, at the grand opening of the 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India, in Goa.

It may be noted that the actor was honoured with the Padma Bhushan, India's third-highest civilian award, for his contributions to Indian cinema, in 2006.

Congratulating the veteran actor, minister Anurag Singh Thakur has said that Chiranjeevi has had an illustrious career spanning almost four decades, with more than 150 films as an actor, dancer & producer. "He is immensely popular in Telegu Cinema, with incredible performances touching hearts!," he added.

Film luminaries like Waheeda Rahman, Rajinikanth, Ilaiyaraaja, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Biswajit Chatterjee, Hema Malini and Prasoon Joshi have been honoured with this award in the past.
