Yashoda collects Rs 20 crore in three days

Yashoda, the recently released Tamil-Telugu film starring Samantha Ruth Prabhu in the titular role, has collected Rs 20 crore worldwide, within three days of its release.

Directed by Hari and Harish, the film features Samantha as a pregnant woman, who gets admitted to a surrogacy centre which ropes in women in need for financial help in return for renting out their womb. The film opened to mixed reviews while the actor was praised for her performance. It is backed by Sridevi Movies.

Besides Samantha, the film also stars Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Unni Mukundan, Rao Ramesh, Murali Sharma, Sampath Raj, Shatru, and Madhurima, to name a few, in supporting roles.

Yashoda has music by Mani Sharma, cinematography by M Sukumar and editing by Marthand K Venkatesh. The film came at the time when Samantha revealed that she was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis.

Meanwhile, Samantha has mythological film Shaakuntalam, and romantic drama Kushi in the making.
