Veteran Telugu actor Krishna hospitalised 

He was admitted to Contimental Hospital in Gachibowli around 3.30 am

Veteran Telugu actor and Mahesh Babu’s father Krishna was rushed to hospital after he complained of breathlessness, on Monday. He was admitted to Contimental Hospital in Gachibowli around 3.30 am.

The 79-year-old veteran is now in a stable condition and will be kept under observation for three days. Mahesh Babu’s wife and Krishna’s daughter-in-law Namrata took him to the hospital. According to reports, the veteran actor is believed to have suffered a mild cardiac arrest.

It is to be noted that Mahesh Babu’s family had been having a rough year, after his mother and Krishna’s wife Indira Devi passed away in September. In January, the family lost their elder son Ramesh Babu.

Having acted in more than 350 films, Krishna was conferred with Padma Bhushan in 2009 for his contributions to Indian cinema. Popularly referred to as a 'superstar', he was elected as MP on behalf of the Congress party in 1989. He collaborated with several notable directors of the time such as Adurthi Subba Rao, V. Madhusudhan Rao, K. Viswanath, Bapu, Dasari Narayana Rao and K. Raghavendra Rao. Krishna announced his retirement from politics in 2012.
