Harish Shankar acquires remake rights of Ajay Devgn-starrer Raid

Raid revolves around a raid on the mansion of the most powerful parliamentarian from Lucknow, who has been evading income tax for years

Director Harish Shankar has bagged the rights of the Hindi film Raid, say reports. Starring Ajay Devgn and Ileana D'Cruz, the crime thriller was released in theatres on March 16, 2018, and attained critical and commercial success.

"Harish is planning to produce the Telugu version along with Kumar Mangat Pathak. He is planning to cast a popular young actor to reprise Ajay's role and is keen to complete the production before he commences shooting for Pawan Kalyan-starrer Bhavadeeyudu Bhagat Singh," says a source.

Raid revolves around a raid on the mansion of the most powerful parliamentarian from Lucknow, who has been evading income tax for years. The film was written and directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, best known for the critically acclaimed 2011 crime-thriller No One Killed Jessica. It was produced by Panorama Studios in association with T Series, Raid also featured Saurabh Shukla, Gayathri Iyer, and Amit Sial in supporting roles.
