Director MS Raja Shekhar Reddy, who is currently awaiting the release of Nithiin-starrer Macherla Niyojakavargam, has filed a complaint with the police on a social media user for a troll against him and alleged defamation.

Set to release on August 12, Macherla Niyojakavargam features Nithiin as an IAS officer. However, the film was caught in controversy after social media users claimed the old tweets of the director were abusive and had a political colour to it. On the other hand, Raja Shekhar has refused the allegations and claimed that the said Twitter handle does not belong to him and it is not a genuine account.

While social media users have continued to blame the director for his tweets and even point out to show his political inclination towards Andhra Pradesh’s YSRCP ruling party and how he has used derogatory tweets towards other castes, Raja Shekhar has filed a complaint to the Hyderabad cybercrime unit. The director claimed that a few people are trying to create unwanted hatred against him, just before the film release.

Meanwhile, Nithiin had recently come in support of his director and tweeted, “Fake tweet by a Fake person has created unnecessary fuss.. unfortunately this has hurt the sentiment of others..VERY SAD and DISAPPOINTING I CONDEMN this kind of FALSE PROPAGANDA…”
