While SS Rajamouli's big-budget actioner, RRR, received widespread acclaim during its theatrical run, the film has been showered with unprecedented acclaim from many quarters since its OTT debut.
It hasn't been all positive for team RRR either, there have been opinions expressing the dislike for the Ram Charan-NTR Jr-starrer. However, a recent remark by Academy Award winner Resul Pookutty hasn't gone down well in social media.
Responding to writer-filmmaker Munish Bhardwaj, who tweeted, "Saw 30 minutes of garbage called RRR last night," Resul said that "Alia Bhatt was just a prop" in the film, which he went on to refer to as a "gay love story."
Even as these comments received social media backlash, Resul said that he was merely quoting "something that was already in the public domain" and shared a couple of newspaper articles.
Nevertheless, social media users expressed their displeasure over the words used by the acclaimed sound designer.
RRR, which also starred Ajay Devgn and Alia Bhatt in pivotal roles, created global box-office records during its theatrical run, and raked in the numbers during its OTT debut too.
