Nagarjuna Akkineni took to Twitter to debunk the speculation that went viral on social media about a statement that he had reportedly made on his son Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s separation. He tweeted, “The news in social media and electronic media quoting my statement about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya is completely false and absolute nonsense!! I request media friends to please refrain from posting rumours as news.”

The reported rumours claimed that Nagarjuna commented on the separation and that he said that Samantha was the one to ask Naga Chaitanya for a divorce.

Actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha had announced their separation in October 2021. Following this, Samantha was trolled by fans who made intrusive comments about her personal life. Following this, in an interview with a magazine in December, the actor said, “I still have to live my life. I know I'm still going to live my life and with all the issues that I now faced in my personal life, I was surprised at how strong I was. I thought I was a much weaker person. I thought that with my separation, I would crumble and die. I didn't think I was capable of being this strong...Today I'm very very proud of how strong I'm because I really didn't know I was.”

Naga Chaitanya also commented on his separation recently and said, “It is okay to be separated. That is a mutual decision made for individual happiness. If she is happy, then I am happy. So divorce is the best decision in such a situation.”
