Music composer SS Thaman is the latest addition to the list of Telugu celebrities- Manchu Manoj, Vishwak Sen, Lakshmi Manchu and Mahesh Babu- who recently tested positive for coronavirus.

Just a day after his Sarileru Neekevvaru lead actor Mahesh Babu tested positive, Thaman has taken to Twitter to inform his fans and followers that he too has contracted COVID-19 and is under quarantine. 

"I have tested positive for COVID-19 with mild symptoms, despite taking all the necessary precautions and being double vaccinated. I have quarantined myself and am following safety protocols under the advice of my doctors," wrote Thaman on Twitter.

He further urged the people who came in contact with him to get tested, "I request everyone who has come in contact with me to please get themselves tested. I urge everyone to follow the Covid safety protocols and get vaccinated. Stay safe."

The Omicron variant of COVID-19 has infected a lot of people, including an array of film stars within a span of a week.

On the professional front, Thaman has several films in the pipeline including Pawan Kalyan-starrer Bheemla Nayak, Prabhas' Radhe Shyam, Mahesh Babu's Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Chiranjeevi's Godfather, Thank You, Thalapathy 66, NBK 107 and RC 15.
