Actor Dr Rajasekhar has been signed to play a gangster in Pavan Sadineni's upcoming film Monster. Produced by Malkapuram Siva Kumar, the film is an intense action drama that presents Rajasekhar in a new look - sporting short hair and a beard. The film was launched in the presence of director Praveen Sattaru, Prashanth Varma, Damodar Prasad and Prasanna Kumar on Tuesday.

"The film is a powerful action entertainer that presents the vintage Rajasekhar in his moments. He plays a ruthless gangster and is set to pull out the best action sequences in the film. The story is all about how this monster accomplishes his target by braving all the odds posed by his enemies and the police department," says a source from the production team.

The principal photography is expected to commence in October. The female lead and other actors in the film are yet to be finalised. The film's technical crew includes music composer Ghibran, editor Viplav Nyshadam, dialogue writer Rakendu Mouli and production designer Srinivas Narini.
