Actor Anupama Parameswaran posted a note on her Instagram story, clarifying her absence from the promotions for her upcoming film Karthikeya 2. In the note, she spoke about her hectic schedule which has her working day and night for two other films. She went on to say that the clash in dates was also fueled by the continuous change in release dates for Karthikeya 2. Anupama then ended the note by thanking her cast and crew for their effort in promoting the film and gave a special mention to the lead actor Nikhil Siddharth.

Karthikeya  2 is a sequel to the 2014 film starring Nikhil Siddharth in the lead, directed by Chandoo Mondeti. The supernatural mystery-thriller marks the return of Nikhil in the titular role with Anupama playing the female lead. The sequel also stars Anupam Kher, Srinivasa Reddy, Harsha Chemudu, Adithya Menon, Praveen, and Satya.

The film started shooting in Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh in 2021 and then moved on to Spain, Portugal, and Greece. The music for the film is composed by Kaala Bhairava, the rights for the music have been bought by ZeeMusic.

Kartikeya 2 crew has started doing the promotional rounds for the film. The makers have confirmed a release date of 12 August.
