Actor Jagapathi Babu has been roped in to play the antagonist in Prashanth Neels' much-awaited film Prabhas and Shruti Haasan starrer Salaar.

Director Prashanth announced the news by posting a first look poster of the actor as Rajamanaar, the character he is set to portray. "Introducing #Rajamanaar. Thank you @IamJagguBhai garu for being a part of #Salaar," he wrote.

Jagapathi too shared the poster and wrote, "This is the best of my worst look ever. #Salaar. Thanks to @prashanth_neel, #Prabhas, @VKiragandur, @hombalefilms, and the entire crew. Really excited to give my best with the help of #PrashanthNeel, I fell in love with myself - ur Rajamanaar forever."

It was previously reported that Salaar might feature Prabhas in a dual role. It was also rumoured that the film actors Ramya Krishnan, Jyotika and Priyanka Upendra are also a part of the cast.

The film has cinematography by Bhuvan Gowda and music composed by Ravi Basrur. The action-choreography of the film is handled by Anbu-Ariv.

As of now, Salaar is scheduled for release on April 14, 2022. The film is produced by Hombale Films, which earlier produced Prashanth's KGF film series.
