Witness trailer out; Shraddha Srinath-Rohini film promises a hard-hitting political drama

The film is set to have a direct release on Sony LIV

We had earlier reported about Shraddha Srinath and Rohini headlining cinematographer-director Deepak's upcoming film Witness. The film, which is set to premiere on Sony LIV on December 9, attempts to present the brutal reality of manual scavenging.

Rohini plays a street sweeper, whose son gets killed during manual scavenging. The film is primarily about this defiant mother's fight to serve justice to her deceased son. Shraddha's character, defined as a 'young woman with a conscience', joins her in the legal battle. According to the makers, the film aims to discuss the politics and issues about the topic of manual scavenging that happens not only in public sewers but also in malls and apartment complexes.

Witness also stars Azhagam Perumal, Shanmuga Raja, G Selva, Subatra Robert, Rajeev Anand, and Tamilarasan. With music by Ramesh Thamilmani and editing by Philomin Raj, the film is produced by People Media Factory
