We had recently reported about Vidharth and Karunakaran starring in a new film titled Payanigal Gavanikkavum. It is set to stream on Aha Tamil from April 29. Ahead of the release, the makers have shared the trailer. 

The film directed by SP Shakthivel has Vidharth playing a hearing and speech-impaired middle-aged person who works in a school. Lakshmipriya Chandramouli essays the role of his wife. Others in the cast include Masoom Shankar, Prem Kumar, RJ Sarithran, and Kavithalaya Krishnan.

Payanigal Gavanikkavum is the official remake of the Malayalam film Vikruthi. Suraj Venjaramoodu and Soubin Shahir starred in the original, which is based on a real incident that occured in Kerala when a photo of a hearing and speech-impaired person sleeping in a metro train was shared online by a co-passenger assuming he was drunk. The film explored how this incident affected him and the person who was responsible for taking the picture.
