Soori-starrer Mandaadi has crossed another milestone at the global box office, with the film now grossing Rs 140 crore worldwide. The Mathimaran Pugazhendhi directorial, which has been enjoying a strong theatrical run since its release, has continued to add to its worldwide tally following its earlier milestones of Rs 100 crore and Rs 125 crore.

Sharing the news on X, the makers wrote, "#Mandaadi Vagaiyara in a Box Office Rampage! Grossed ₹140+ Crores Worldwide! #Mandaadi Thiruvizha Continues! #BlockbusterMandaadi is Running Successfully in Theatres."

Starring Soori and Suhas in the lead roles, Mandaadi has emerged as the highest-grossing film of Soori’s career as a lead actor. The film’s latest milestone also comes shortly after its production banner, RS Infotainment, announced that it had crossed the Rs 125 crore mark worldwide.

The film’s theatrical run has received appreciation from audiences and members of the film fraternity alike. Rajinikanth reportedly watched the film and conveyed his appreciation to Soori over a phone call. Kamal Haasan, who attended a special screening, also praised the film, with particular appreciation for its writing and dialogues.

An excerpt from CE's review of the film reads, "Soori looks exceptional as Muthukaali. Carrying too many labels like a fantastic team player, traitor, and murderer attached to him, and eventually breaking down, Soori's emotional arc was brilliant. His stunts and other adventures are largely believable except in a few places where it looks like it is too soon for him to make certain superheroic feats convincing."

Mandaadi marks another significant phase in Soori’s transition from supporting and comic roles to leading parts in films with a wider commercial reach. The actor has several projects lined up following the film’s success, including Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai, directed by Ram and co-starring Nivin Pauly and Anjali. The film is slated to hit theatres on October 1.
