Recently, we reported about Kamal Haasan meeting the Mandaadi team and expressing his appreciation for the film, directed by Mathimaran Pugazhendhi and starring Soori and Suhas in the lead roles. Kamal attended a special screening for Mandaadi and said that he liked the film, while making a special note of the dialogues in it. The superstar also posed for pictures with the cast and crew, much to their delight. Many of them, including Mathimaran Pugazhendhi, Soori, and Suhas, expressed their gratitude to Kamal for his appreciation of the film.

On Friday, Mathimaran Pugazhendhi's wife, lyricist Jayashree, shared her admiration for Kamal. Jayashree dropped on X a picture featuring herself with the legendary actor and admitted that she was late to post it after her meeting with him. Then, Jayashree Mathimaran added, "While everyone admires Kamal Haasan sir for countless reasons, my admiration has always had one special reason..Kamal sir, the lyricist. It feels incredibly special and surreal to have a picture with someone I have admired for his words and lyrics for so long..a moment many would long for. Thank you, Mandaadi, for making this beautiful moment happen."

Mandaadi hit theatres on September 10 and opened to positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Over the course of its theatrical run, the film earned more than 125 crore at the global box office. It is the highest-grossing film in Soori's career if you consider films where he played the lead role. Before Mandaadi, Soori has not had a 100-crore-grosser in his career.
