Actor Rajinikanth and director Nelson's film Jailer 2 is gearing up for its release in theatres worldwide. Ahead of its release, the film's producer, Kalanithi Maran's Sun Pictures banner, has dropped multiple character teasers, confirming Suraj Venjaramoodu, SJ Suryah and Vidya Balan as part of the cast.

Meanwhile, the production banner also announced on Monday that Malik Streams Corporation will release the film in Malaysia. While making the announcement, Sun Pictures wrote in the caption, "Malaysia, Get ready for the celebration!" It is worth noting that Rajinikanth has a large number of loyal and dedicated fans in Malaysia, and that his 2016 film Kabali is set in the country.

Coming back to Jailer 2, the film also brings back the 2023 first part's cast members Ramya Krishnan, Mirnaa, Shivarajkumar, Yogi Babu, Jaffer Sadiq, and Vinayakan in their respective roles. On the other hand, the new cast additions for the Jailer sequel include Vijay Sethupathi, Anna Rajan, Hakkim Shah, Bagavathi Perumal, Meghana Raj, Shamna Kasim, and Jatin Sarna. Reportedly, the film also brings back Mohanlal's character from Jailer, even though Sun Pictures is yet to confirm this speculation. According to reports, actors such as Shah Rukh Khan, Mithun Chakraborty, and Hrithik Roshan are part of the cast as well.

The film retains most of the technicians from 2023's Jailer, including composer Anirudh, editor R Nirmal, cinematographer Vijay Kartik Kannan, art director DRK Kiran, as well as costume designers Pallavi Singh and Muthul Hafeez. Action director Chethan D'Souza is part of the technical crew as well.

The second part of Jailer is set for an October 15 release in theatres worldwide. On October 16, director Rajkumar Periasamy's Om, starring Dhanush and Mammootty, is scheduled to hit theatres as well.
