Recently, we reported about Suriya and Jyotika renewing their wedding vows amidst their friends and family in an intimate function. The couple shared a glimpse of their ceremony with a video recently, only to receive an outpouring of love from their fans and well wishers. On Sunday, Suriya expressed his gratitude to them for their wishes to him and his wife.

Sharing another video from his wedding vow renewal, the actor wrote, "Sharing yet another piece of our heart with you as we are overwhelmed by the love and positivity you've showered on us." He then went on to thank the "extraordinary team" that made the arrangements for the ceremony, including photographers, videographers, the Blairquhan Castle team, and those who made floral arrangements.

Subsequently, Suriya explained why he and Jyotika chose Scotland as the location for their wedding vow renewal function, something which they described as "The Sequel, 20 Years of Love and War".

Making the explanation, the actor shared, "We chose Scotland for its misty highlands and lochs and their love story that mirrored our own. But we came home carrying something greater than memories. Having met people so open-hearted, so genuinely warm, that our hearts will never truly go Scot-free."

According to reports, Suriya and Jyothika met for the first time on the set of their 1999 film Poovellam Kettuppar. It would take another three years for them to fall in love, which reportedly happened on the set of the 2003 film Kaakha Kaakha. They eventually got married on September 11, 2006, and they have a son named Dev and a daughter named Diya.

Their love story is widely celebrated as one of the most enduring and admired real-life romances in Tamil cinema. And while they have not starred in a film since 2006's Sillunu Oru Kaadhal, they continued to support each other's careers and collaborate as producers under the banners, Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment.
