Music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner Kavya Maran’s upcoming wedding reception in Chennai has drawn attention after their invitation went viral on social media. The reception is scheduled for November 21, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, and actors Rajinikanth and Ajith Kumar among the prominent names reportedly linked to the guest list.
The Maran family has been personally inviting political leaders to the reception. Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife, Kavery Maran, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay and Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, among others. They also met Congress Parliamentary Party chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi. Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi was present during the meeting with Sonia Gandhi. The Telangana Chief Minister’s Office has confirmed the November 21 reception date.
The reported political invitees also include former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu. Rahul Gandhi has been mentioned in reports about the expected guest list, although the public reports reviewed do not establish his attendance. An invitation should not be taken as confirmation that any guest will be present.
From the film industry, Rajinikanth, who is Anirudh’s uncle, and Ajith Kumar are among the prominent names reported to have been invited. Other personalities linked to the reception include music composer AR Rahman, actors Sivakarthikeyan and Allu Arjun, director Nelson Dilipkumar, and actors Shalini Ajith Kumar, Sneha and Prasanna.
While the Chennai reception is scheduled for November 21, reports suggest that the couple may hold an intimate destination wedding in Greece on November 10 and 11. However, Anirudh and Kavya have not publicly confirmed the reported ceremony dates or venue.
Kavya, the daughter of Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran, is the CEO of Sunrisers Hyderabad and has become a familiar face among IPL audiences. Anirudh, meanwhile, is fresh off the success of Jailer 2, which is backed by Sun Pictures.
