After delivering back-to-back hits with Karuppu and Vishwanathan and Sons, Suriya is gearing up for his third release of the year: Scene. Directed by Jithu Madhavan of Aavesham and Romancham fame in his Tamil debut, the upcoming film also stars Naslen and Nazriya Nazim in important roles. Suriya himself produces it with wife Jyotika under their Zhagaram Studios and 2D Entertainment banners. Jaishree D of Zhagaram Studios also serves as a producer. On Wednesday, the makers revealed that the film has received a U/A 16+ certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification.
The film has a runtime of around 149 minutes, according to the information on the CBFC website.
Scene stars Suriya as a police officer named Inbaraj, who teams up with a motley crew to look into a case, involving an erstwhile law enforcement officer who has been thrown out of the force.
Naslen also makes his first appearance in Tamil cinema with the upcoming film and his first turn as an antagonist in a film. At a recent promotional event for the film in Dubai, the actor said half-jokingly that the audience should decide whether he is good enough to come back to Tamil cinema for more after Scene. Meanwhile, Nazriya Nazim said that the film will be a laugh riot in theatres.
The film also stars Anandraj, Lal, and Raj Priyan, among others. On the technical front, it has composer Sushin Shyam, who reunites with Jithu Madhavan after collaborations on Romancham and Aavesham. The technical team of the film also includes cinematographer Vineeth Augustian, editor Ajmal Sabu, production designer Ashwini Kale, stunt choreographer Chethan D’Souza, and art director A Rajesh.
Scene is slated for a November 06 release in theatres. Also set to hit the screens on the same date is Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C and starring Nayanthara in the lead role.
