On Monday, the makers of the upcoming film John Doe unveiled the character poster of Zaara Vineet Chandhoke, who made her acting debut in Doctor. Zaara is the daughter of popular anchor and actor Archana Chandhoke.
Zaara can be seen with wine-coloured hair and is introduced as Lucky in the poster. The caption that accompanies her introductory poster reads, "Am I good enough? That question doesn’t care how old you are—it arrives anyway, loud and relentless. Too young, they say. Not ready, they say. But doubt has never needed permission to make itself at home. Maybe capability isn’t about age. Maybe it’s about surviving the question long enough to answer it with your work."
John Doe is directed by Madhumita, who has previously directed KD (2019). She has written the film along with Nicholas Chevallier. Arjun Das and Sanchana Natrajan lead the cast of the film, which also includes Zaara Vineet Chandhoke.
John Doe has music by Mujeeb Majid, with The Artist 404 working on additional music for the film. The crew also includes director of photography Preetha Jayaraman, editor Vijay Venkataraman, production designer Ashwini Kale, and stunt choreographers Dinesh Subbarayan and Action Sandhosh.
Prasad Devineni and Shobu Yarlagadda are producing John Doe under their Arka Mediaworks banner. AGS Entertainment is distributing the film in Tamil Nadu. Netflix has bagged the streaming rights for the film.
Madhumita last directed Kaalidhar Laapata (2025), the Hindi remake of her 2019 film K.D. She made her debut with the Parthiban-Chaya Singh starrer Vallamai Tharayo and went on to direct Kola Kolaya Mundhirika (2010) and Moone Moonu Varthai (2015). She also helmed the segment Mouname Paarvayaai from the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadha. Interestingly, Arjun Das had starred in another segment of the show. Currently, Madhumita is also awaiting the release of Love Always, which premieres on JioHotstar on October 30.
