The Jailer 2 box office collection saw a major spike on Saturday as compared to the previous two days. According to data from Sacnilk, the film earned a net collection of 24.15 crore from theatres in India on Saturday, which is 10 crore more than Friday and surpasses the Thursday collection by seven crore. The overall global box office collection for director Nelson's film, starring Rajinikanth, now stands at 660 crore, the tracker reveals. At the India box office alone, the film has earned a gross collection of 436.80 crore.

It is now second only to Rajinikanth’s own 2.0 on the list of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. With no major releases in Tamil until November first week, the Rajinikanth starrer is expected to become the new industry hit in Tamil cinema. If Jailer 2 maintains the current momentum, it is also likely to become the first Tamil film to earn more than 1000 crore from theatres worldwide.

On Saturday, the film’s cast and technical crew, including Rajinikanth, held a success meet for it. Further, the Superstar also watched the Jailer sequel on IMAX with fans on Saturday after a 40-year-long gap in such a public appearance.

The Jailer 2 box office collection shows that Rajinikanth is still a force to reckon with even at the age of 75 years. Recently, his PR agent Riaz said that the Superstar does not care about his films' box office performance. “He only wants to know if the film is a hit, is making the audience happy and bringing profit for the producer and the distributor. Beyond this, he never focuses on boosting his box office figures through self promotion as soon as the up-to-date come in,” the PR agent shared.
