Recently, we reported that Ilaiyaraaja is set to compose for a film helmed by first-time filmmaker Raam Na. The film is backed by Aparajeeth Films, which has previously bankrolled Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe and Bala's Nandha. While the former starred Suriya alongside Trisha, the latter stars Suriya with Laila.

The production banner, which is making a comeback with the yet-to-be-titled film, launched it with a pooja ceremony in Chennai on Tuesday. The film will commence shooting in November this year in Coimbatore. Debut director Raam Na is a erstwhile assistant to director Ameer.

Prominent directors and other members of the Tamil film fraternity attended the launch ceremony. The film was launched by directors Cheran, Sasikumar, Ameer and Bala, as they clapped the board together for the first shot. Also in attendance were director SA Chandrasekhar, actor Sivakumar, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Karu Pazhaniappan, and more.

On the technical front, the film will feature camera work by Vanchi Murugesan, dialogues by Bharathan, art direction by Balu Mahendra, editing by Boopathy Vedgiri and costumes designed by Meera. As per a report on IANS, the film "will seek to offer an engaging cinematic experience." More details about the film's extended cast, crew, and plot, are awaited.

Meanwhile, Ilaiyaraaja is now working on Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Pocket Novel starring Vijay Sethupathi and Malavika Mohanan. He is also set to compose music for Mari Selvaraj's Manjanathi, featuring Kayadu Lohar, Priyanka Mohan and Kathir, among others. In the pipeline, he also has R Balki's next film, Thattuvandi, and Ramarajan's next as an actor. The music composer is fresh off the success of Dorothy, helmed by Karthik Subbaraj.
