Stuntmen in Tamil cinema are identified by their unique monikers. Anl Arasu, Super Subbarayan, Stunt Shiva, and Jaguar Thangam, are just some of them. Now, the National award winning stunt choreographer Anl Arasu opened up about his moniker.

Speaking in an interview with Galatta Plus, Arasu said, "It is a very funny story. When I was working with Peter Hein and Stun Shiva, I used to do very fast movements when composing fights. So when I was working on Mounam Pesiyadhe, Suriya sir and the others used to say, 'Arasu compose panna anl parakudhu (When Arasu composes a fight it creates a heat wave). But I was surprised to find out in the credits of the film that I was credited as Anl Arasu."

Earlier this year, Arasu became the first winner of the National Award for Best Stunt Choreography for a Tamil film for his work in Maharaja (2024).

Most recently, he was part of the crew of Vijay's Jana Nayagan and Ravi Teja's Irumudi.
