Director Atlee is busy promoting Vijay Sethupathi's latest film Baththa, where he serves as a presenter and his wife Priya as one of the producers. In a recent interaction with the press and media, the filmmaker was asked whether he plans to make a film with Rajinikanth. Initially, Atlee responded positively, saying, he has a film in mind. However, he soon highlighted his tendency to take a break between films. "I take time with my films. Until I finish and release a film, I do not concentrate on anything else. Therefore, I am yet to think about my next film," the director said to a reporter.
Atlee also noted that he did not think about making Theri while Raja Rani was in production or Mersal while working on Theri. The director added that he would take a two-month-long break after the release of Raaka and look at the mistakes in it before starting his next project.
Baththa has opened really well at the box office. According to data from Sacnilk, the film has earned approximately 10 crore from theatres in India so far.
Coming back to Atlee, he is working on his next film Raaka, starring Allu Arjun, the filmmaker's first directorial venture in Telugu. Produced by Kalanithi Maran under his banner Sun Pictures, the film also stars Deepika Padukone in an important role. There has been some speculation about Will Smith's involvement in the film as an antagonist, although Sun Pictures is yet to confirm it. Recently, the film entered the Guinness World Records as it earned a landmark achievement in cinematic technology under the category of “Most People Motion-Captured in Real-Time".
According to reports, the upcoming Allu Arjun starrer has science-fiction and fantasy elements, and it promises to showcase the superstar in a never-seen-before avatar. During the interaction, Atlee joked that even his producer has not asked about Raaka's release date.
