Tharagai's promo starts with Gandhi's famous quote, "The day a woman can walk freely on the roads at night, that day we can say that India has achieved independence." We then see Gouri Kishan, in the middle of the night, decked in a bridal ensemble, boarding a bus to Chennai, with a milestone informing us that there are 96 km to Chennai. The caption of her Instagram post further reads, "A woman. A journey. Her freedom."

The upcoming film is made from a story by Thuhiran, with Balakumar Vijayaraman serving as a co-writer and Dhinamdhorum Nagaraj writing the dialogues. Suresh has produced the film under his Speed Reels studio banner. More details about the film's extended cast, plot and genre are awaited.
