Actor Nazriya Nazim has clarified that she did not deliberately turn down three earlier opportunities to work with Suriya after the actor recently spoke about how he had approached her for his films before finally collaborating with her in Scene. Speaking at the film's pre-release event in Kochi, Nazriya said that the earlier projects did not materialise because of scheduling issues and other circumstances.

“Suriya sir said that I rejected three of his films. It's just a joke. Actually, it was because of dates and some other confusion. How will I reject a Suriya Sir film?” she said.

The actor also expressed happiness about being part of Scene, which marks her first collaboration with Suriya and her return to Tamil cinema after 12 years. She was last seen in the Tamil film Thirumanam Enum Nikkah (2014), directed by Anis. Speaking about working with director Jithu Madhavan, she said, “I'm glad I'm the first heroine of a Jithu Madhavan film.”

Nazriya also spoke about the experience of performing action sequences for the film, adding that the shoot felt like a holiday because of the largely Malayalam-speaking crew. The film marks her first collaboration with the director, who previously helmed Malayalam films such as Romancham and Aavesham.

Directed by Jithu Madhavan, Scene features Suriya as DSP Inbaraj, Nazriya as Maya and Naslen as Eeswaran, the antagonist. The film also stars Lal, John Vijay and Anandaraj in pivotal roles. It is produced by Zhagaram Studios, with cinematography by Vineeth Augustian and music composed by Sushin Shyam. Scene opened in theatres worldwide on Friday. The film also marks Naslen's Tamil debut.
