Suriya and director Jithu Madhavan's film Scene is set to hit theatres on November 06, alongside Nayanthara's Mookuthi Amman 2, directed by Sundar C. Ahead of its release, the makers of the film opened advance bookings on Tuesday. So far, the film has earned 4.33 crore in pre-release reservations for four shows, according to data from the tracker Sacnilk. Interestingly, the Kerala market contributes a significant part of the Scene box office collection. While the film has earned 2.04 crore from theatres in Tamil Nadu, its Kerala collection stands at 1.55 crore, and it has minted 36.89 lakh from Karnataka.
Besides Suriya, the presence of Romancham and Aavesham director Jithu Madhavan as well as actors Nazriya Nazim and Naslen have contributed to the collection for the film in Kerala. The film is set to hit more than 550 theatres in Kerala, making it one of the biggest releases for Suriya across the state.
Gokulam Gopalan's Sree Gokulam Movies is the Kerala distributor for the Suriya starrer. On the other hand, Sakthi Film Factory holds the distribution rights for the film in Tamil Nadu.
It is worth noting that Scene faces stiff competition from Mookuthi Amman 2 and Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash. In Kerala, specifically, director Ullas Chemban's Disco is also set for a November 06 release. Written by Chemban Vinod Jose, Disco stars Antony Varghese Pepe, Arjun Ashokan, Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Femina George, Lukman Avaran, and Dev Mohan. With several films being slated to release theatrically this week, it is going to be interesting to see how Scene will fare at the box office.
The film also stars Lal, Anandraj, and Raj Priyan. It marks Jithu Madhavan's debut in Tamil cinema and brings the filmmaker back together with composer Sushin Shyam, who also makes his Tamil debut with it.
