As Scene gears up for its release ahead of the packed Diwali weekend, Suriya thanked one person in his speech at the audio launch of the film. The actor-producer took a moment to thank Dhanush, who had earlier mentioned not wanting to clash with Suriya's Scene while announcing the posteponement of Om – Chapter 1: Udhiram – The Blood Wood.

"My sincere thanks to the theatre owners and distributors. There are a lot of films like Ramayana and Mookuthi Amman 2, which are releasing in theatres along side Scene. But I thank them for working with us to help with the release of this film. Also special thanks to Dhanush. I think in a tweet he had mentioned that he wanted to release his film later, because Scene is releasing for Diwali. So I want to thank him on this stage," said Suriya.

Dhanush's Om was earlier scheduled to release on October 16. But the actor later announced, through a tweet, that the film will be postponed to avoid clashing with Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. In the tweet, he also dispelled rumours of Om releasing for Diwali as Scene had already been announced to release for the festival. Later the makers of Om announced that the film will release on November 20.

Meanwhile, Scene is written and directed by Jithu Madhavan, who makes his Tamil debut. Nazriya Nazim returns to Tamil cinema after 12 years, while Naslen also makes his debut in Tamil.
