The producers of writer-director Chella Ayyavu's Gatta Kusthi 2 have been making a string of back-to-back announcements over the last few days. Earlier this Thursday, we reported about Karunakaran, Mokksha and Zara Zyanna being added to the film's cast, and Kaali Venkat, Karunas, Munishkanth, Lizzie Antony, Gajaraj, and Sreeja Ravi reprising their roles from the 2022 original. Now, the makers have announced that Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu are also part of the film's cast. They all join lead actors Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lekshmi, the stars from the 2022 original who come back for the sequel.
According to the latest announcement, the film stars Ramya Krishnan and Yogi Babu as Raja Rajeshwari and Balbir Singh, respectively. Making the announcements, the producers wrote, "Elated and excited to have Ramya Krishnan on board as the IMPACT PLAYER. Watch her as Raja Rajeshwari." On the other hand, announcing Yogi Babu's role, they wrote, "Fun unlimited when he is in the house."
Gatta Kusthi 2 is written and directed by Chella Ayyavu, who helmed the first part as well. Besides starring in it, Vishnu Vishal also serves as a producer on the film. It is produced by Ishari K Ganesh of Vels Film International and Vishnu Vishal Studioz.
The film's technical team includes composer Sean Roldan, cinematographer Bhaskaran PM, editor Barath Vikraman, art director Jayachandran S, and stunt choreographer Supreme Sundar.
Released in theatres in December 2022, Gatta Kusthi tells the story of a champion wrestler (Aishwarya Lekshmi) who tries to hide the truth about her past life from her chauvinistic spouse (Vishnu Vishal).
The Gatta Kusthi sequel is scheduled to hit theatres on July 03, Friday.
