Actor Arjun Sarja was all in praise of Preity Mukhundhan and her performance in their upcoming action entertainer Blast which also stars Abhirami in the lead. Sharing his words of appreciation for her dedication towards her craft and stunt sequences in the film, Arjun, during a pre-release event said, "Preity is...My god. Whenever I see her, she is always working. She's worked so many nights. I myself feel pity for her. While I may complete soon, her portions would stretch till 2 am or so."
He further added, "I know that she is a good dancer, but the way she showcased her fighting skills had me thinking, 'Will she overtake me?'. But let her. I felt very nice. She is hard-working and dedicated."
Overwhelmed by his words, Preity too to her Instagram stories and wrote, "Dear Arjun sir, I think all of us who have grown up watching you know how much weight your words carry. For someone known for being a powerhouse on screen, I deeply admire how you carry yourself with so much grace, discipline and dignity. thank you so much for your words and for always showing me so much warmth."
Directed by debutant Subash K Raj, Blast also stars Vivek Prasanna, John Kokken, Arjun Chidambaram, Pawan, Dileepan, Vinod Sagar, and Bala Hasan R in important roles. The film's plotline reads, "A family trained to protect the powerless becomes the most dangerous obstacle of all."
Composer Ravi Basrur, prominently known for his music in the KGF films, is all set to make his Tamil debut with this new project. The rest of the technical team includes cinematography by Arun Radhakrishnan, editing by Pradeep E Ragav and art direction by Veeramani Ganesan. Archana Kalpathi and Aishwarya Kalpathi serve as creative producer and associate creative producer respectively. Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S. Ganesh, and Kalpathi S Suresh are producing the film for AGS Entertainment.
Blast is set for release in theatres on May 28. The film is set to premiere on Netflix post its theatrical run.
