Preity Mukhundhan plays a key role in the upcoming film Blast, written and directed by Subash K Raj and co-starring Arjun and Abhirami. The film brings the actor back to Tamil cinema after 2024's Star, directed by Elan and co-starring Kavin. The recently released trailer for the film sees Preity bashing up other characters, hinting at a role with plenty of action. The actor recently spoke about her character in an official video released by the film's producer, AGS Entertainment.

The actor expressed her gratitude to stunt choreographer Phoenix Prabhu for helping her and her co-stars with the action sequences in Blast. "A huge thanks to Prabhu master. He made us do the action scenes convincingly after thinking about how to execute those sequences."
Preity also thanked her director Subash for pushing her to do the stunts in a convincing and impactful manner. Besides the stunts, Preity said that the music also a plays a big part in making the cinematic experience that is Blast. The film has music by Ravi Basrur, who is known for his work in titles such as the KGF franchise and Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, among others.
"I never imagined that I would have slow-motion shots in a film with Ravi Basrur sir's music. These are all very massy," Preity revealed.
Produced by Kalpathi S Aghoram, Kalpathi S Ganesh and Kalpathi S Suresh under the AGS Entertainment banner, Blast is set to hit theatres on May 28, Thursday.
