It is well-known that Jayaram and Urvashi are joining hands after two decades for director Pandiraaj's upcoming film Parimala and Co. With the film already in its post-production stages, the cast and crew have started promotions for their entertainer which is expected to release earlier this month.
During a recent conversation with Behindwoods, the director revealed that he first thought of Rajinikanth while scripting the film. "To be honest, I had imagined how the film would turn out if Rajinikanth sir had acted in this. That is how I scripted the entire movie. Then, I had thought about Kamal Haasan sir. He would bring a Papanasam-style feel to the film. When I was thinking about the next option, I felt Jayaram sir would pull off the character effectively," he shared, admitting that he couldn't think of a casting another person in the place of Urvashi.
"She was my first choice. No other female actor felt right for the role. I knew nobody else could play Perarasi role like Nithya Menen in Thalaivan Thalaivii. In the same way, I couldn't think of anyone for Parimala and Co besides Urvashi ma'am," he added.
The film's title, along with a teaser was revealed earlier this month. It showed the every-family comprising Jayaram, Urvashi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy, and Ananthika Sanilkumar jockingly bickering over how much to pay their househelp. But at the end of the glimpse, it was revealed that the family has committed murder/murders. The film seems to revolve around the predicament the family faces which is expected to be narrated in a humourous and entertaining way. Pandiraaj last made Thalaivan Thalaivii, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Nithya Menen in the lead.
The film also stars Mysskin, Yogi Babu, Sandy, Santosh Sobhan, and Tamilkumaran, among others. The technical team of Parimala and Co comprises cinematographer George C Williams, music composer Foxn, editor Pradeep E Ragav, and stunt choreographer Kalai Kingson.
