Jailer 2: Crew member passes away on set due to electrocution

Production on Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, wrapped up late in April

Jailer 2: On Thursday, at the Adityaram Film City in Chennai, an accident on the sets of Rajinikanth's Jailer 2, directed by Nelson, has claimed the life of a crew member. Karthikeyan, a 28-year-old electrician, passed away due to electrocution, while working on preparations for filming.

While the true cause of the accident is still being investigated, the accident happened while work on a large house set was being done. After being electrocuted Karthikeyan became unconscious, which alarmed crew members who subsequently tried to resuscitate him.

But unfortunately, Karthikeyan passed away immediately. Investigation into the crew member's death is being undertaken by the Kanathur police.

Karthikeyan was an engineering graduate, from Salem, who moved to Chennai, in hopes of making it into cinema.

Production on wrapped up late in April. The film is produced by Sun Pictures, and has music by Anirudh. Ramya Krishnan, Shivarajkumar, Mohanlal, Yogi Babu, returns to the sequel, reprising their roles from Jailer (2023).
