Actor Trisha Krishnan turned heads at Chennai’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium on Sunday as she arrived at Vijay’s oath-taking ceremony as the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. Before leaving for the venue, Trisha briefly interacted with the media outside her residence and said she was excited to witness the landmark political moment unfold.
For the ceremony, the actor chose a pastel blue silk saree paired with a heavily embroidered gold blouse. She accessorised the traditional look with diamond jewellery and adorned her hair with jasmine flowers, keeping the styling elegant and understated.
Trisha’s presence at the high-profile event quickly became a talking point online, especially given the long-standing public fascination around her equation with Vijay. The two actors have shared screen space in several hit films over the years and continue to attract attention whenever they are spotted together publicly.
The ceremony marks a major political victory for Vijay and his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam, which emerged as the largest force in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. The party secured 108 seats, overtaking both Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, ending decades of dominance by the two Dravidian parties.
Trisha and Vijay have been making headlines ever since their public appearance at the wedding reception of Kalpathi Suresh and Meenakshi Suresh's son. The two came together in the same car with colour-matching outfits and with a bouquet in Vijay's hand. Later, they both appeared together on stage to congratulate the bride and groom.
While speculations of their relationship have been making rounds for a long while, it was confirmed after Vijay's wife Sankgeetha filed for a divorce based on irreconcilable differences, allegations of adultery with an unnamed actress in 2021, and mental strain. Their public appearance came after the news of divorce.
The rumour mill has been active about Vijay and Trisha for a long time now. According to netizens, spreading the rumour, Trisha's social media activity suggested on multiple occasions that she was seeing Vijay during her foreign trips. The speculation hit a fever pitch when she dropped an image featuring herself with Vijay in an elevator.
On the work front, Vijay and Trisha starred together in multiple films, including Ghilli, Thirupachi, Aathi, Kuruvi, and Leo. In addition, Trisha also appeared in a special song in Vijay's penultimate film, The Greatest Of All Time (GOAT), directed by Venkat Prabhu.
