A day after actor-turned-politician Vijay recorded a historic win in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly elections, actor Sriman, an avid supporter of the Jana Nayagan actor, has opened up about what to expect from Vijay's rule.

Sriman started by talking about the conversation he had with Vijay as votes were being counted. "Yesterday, around this time, after my morning bath and prayers, I was watching the vote counting begin with the postal ballots. At that very moment, I messaged him: “We’re coming. It’s confirmed. It’s certain.” Today, those words stand true, not because of us, but because of the faith and mandate given by the people. You have adorned him with this victory."

Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam is yet to secure an absolute majority, which is required to form the government. Commenting upon the same, he said, "The party will now come together to discuss how to secure a majority and form the government. With over 30 years of experience, I can confidently say this: when he gives his word, he will stand by it."

Sriman then addressed the doubts of many who pointed out Vijay's limited political experience. "Many have questioned his understanding of politics. Let me assure you, he is someone who learns quickly. He stepped into this space only after preparing himself for its demands. In public life, every single day is a lesson, and he will continue to grow with each one."

Sriman and Vijay have been long-time friends and collaborators. They worked on films such as Love Today (1997), Friends (2001), Vaseegara (2003), Pokkiri (2007), Master (2021), and Varisu (2023). Sriman even appeared in Malaysia for the audio launch of Jana Nayagan, Vijay's final film as an actor.

Vijay secured 108 seats in the elections, with him winning both Trichy East and Perambur. The politician will now have to choose between the two, with a by-election due for the resigned seat. Meanwhile, Vijay needs 11 more seats to prove a majority and form the government.
