Actor and TVK chief Vijay's triumphant Tamil Nadu Election campaign has been a major point of discussion not just in the state but elsewhere too. The achievement of the actor in his first-ever election has received widespread appreciation from Tamil cinema, Telugu states, Karnataka and Kerala. Some prominent voices from Hindi cinema have also responded to it.
Actor and BJP MP Hema Malini reflected on the unprecedented nature of Vijay and TVK's victory, ending the longstanding trend of the election being a two-way battle between the DMK and AIADMK. "The state has veered away from Dravidian supremacy which had ruled the state for many years. The youth have voted in hordes for the new first time political star, the recent film star turned politician Joseph Vijay," Hema wrote.
Hema also drew a parallel between Vijay's performance in the Tamil Nadu Assembly Election and former actor-chief ministers, MG Ramachandran and Jayalalithaa. She added, "This was a tsunami, completely unexpected which has swept through the state which has seen the rule of film personalities MGR and Jayalalitha earlier.I wish Vijay good luck in his new role - most probably that of the new CM of Tamil Nadu!"
On the other hand, congratulating Vijay for a "remarkable victory in Tamil Nadu," actor Anupam Kher wrote, "A win of this scale is never accidental—it is a victory of conviction, connection, and the trust of the people. Meanwhile, Riteish Deshmukh wrote, "The verdict is out !! Huge congratulations to actor Vijay on this incredible and monumental victory. May the force be with you, may you tirelessly work for the good of the people."
At the same time, Riteish's spouse and Vijay's Sachein co-star Genelia wrote, "Congratulations Dearest actor Vijay on the stupendous public mandate and resounding victory. My best wishes for this new beginning - A new chapter begins."
