On Thursday, we reported about Madras High Court Judge Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy passing an order facilitating the release of director Gautham Vasudev Menon's long-delayed film Dhruva Natchathiram, starring Vikram, on or before June 15. The film faced a long delay because of financial issues.

Earlier this Friday, Gautham took to social media and shared his statement about the imminent release of Dhruva Natchathiram. In the statement, he wrote, "Some men tried to destroy my career and stop my film from releasing, a film that's also the work of more than a hundred people. Another man, my legal counsel, Senior Advocate Abdul Hameed, assured me there's a way ahead and walked me towards it. And now a very important man, Hon'ble Justice Senthilkumar Ramamoorthy has paved the way for me and finally there's light at the end of the tunnel."

The filmmaker also said that the order passed in favour of his film is expected to have a major impact on the industry. "A landmark order passed to release Dhruva Natchathiram will serve as a benchmark to any film that's stuck in an industry that rarely works with organised and structured funds. Onwards and upwards from here," the filmmaker wrote.

While Gautham Vasudev Menon should get funding to clear his dues and ensure the film's release, the fact that the High Court has passed the order has come as a relief to the filmmaker. Meanwhile, he is expected to have conversations with cinema stakeholders, including exhibitors, before coming to a consensus regarding the Dhruva Natchathiram release date. Further, the justice has said that in the event that it becomes impossible to release the Vikram starrer on or before the aforementioned date, the parties concerned can move the court looking for a time extension.
